From the Editor in Chief – Winter 2025

Current Editor-in-Chief of QRCA VIEWS magazine, Tamara Kenworthy, shares her thoughts on the publication’s transition to a fully digital-only platform beginning in 2026. After 24 years in print, this winter issue marks the end of an era—and the start of a more agile, expansive future. Kenworthy also announces her own transition into a new role as Publisher, with Dean Stephens stepping in as Editor-in-Chief and Robert Walker and Nick Wise becoming Managing Editors. The revamped digital VIEWS will officially launch at the 2026 QRCA Annual Conference in San Antonio.

The End of an Era—Turning the Page Toward a Digital Future

QRCA VIEWS has been published as a print and digital magazine for 24 years—since 2002; however, the end of an era is upon us, as this winter issue is our last in print format. While we at VIEWS and QRCA are really sad to say goodbye to our award-winning publication, we are equally excited to evolve from a quarterly print-and-digital magazine to a fully digital destination, one that will help us expand our reach and elevate our thought leadership to a broader audience.

As we bring this new vision to life, we are energized by the opportunity to strengthen our position as the leading voice in qualitative market research. The shift to digital will allow us to publish more frequently and with greater timeliness, blend long- and short-form content, and take advantage of new digital opportunities that simply weren’t possible within the constraints of a quarterly print cycle.

So, while we say goodbye to print, our VIEWS editorial team will remain structured exactly as it is—continuing to seek out thought leaders, surface inspiring topics, and deliver the quality content you expect.

Another era is ending for me personally as well. I am turning over the reins of Editor-in-Chief and stepping into a new role with QRCA VIEWS as Publisher, focused on marketing and outreach for our digital footprint. I remember attending my first QRCA conference years ago, and I immediately knew I wanted to get involved with this organization. Signing up for the VIEWS committee was one of the best decisions I made. Ten years later—starting as the Schools of Thought Feature Editor, moving into a Managing Editor role, and then serving the last four years as Editor-in-Chief—I have loved every minute of it. Working on this volunteer committee has been a wonderful experience—collaborating with authors from around the world, growing as a writer and editor, and working alongside so many exceptional qualitative researchers.

Stepping into the role of Editor-in-Chief will be Dean Stephens, with Robert Walker and Nick Wise moving into Managing Editor roles. I know they will do a terrific job leading VIEWS editorial into this new digital landscape. Thank you to Pamela Batzel, a current Managing Editor, who is rolling off the committee with this issue.

I also want to thank the entire VIEWS team for working so collaboratively and volunteering countless hours to create this content. This includes all past Editors-in-Chief, Managing Editors, and Feature Editors who have shaped VIEWS over the years, along with our design agency, E&M Consulting, Inc.

Ever so important, a heartfelt thank you to the many authors who have contributed—VIEWS would not exist without your insight and “view” of the industry. To our advertisers, past and present, thank you for your generous support, without which this print publication would not have been possible.

Last but not least, VIEWS readers, thank you for taking the time to read our magazine.

I’m proud to say our collective legacy will live on.

As this era ends, stay tuned for the launch of our new QRCA VIEWS vision at the 2026 QRCA Annual Conference in San Antonio, February 2–5.

Until then, please share this winter issue (qrcaviews.org) with your network—post the flipbook link on social media, and pass along an article you think will resonate with your clients.

Happy reading—and see you online in 2026!
